Catastrophic injury/wrongful death
The lawyers at Ramsden, Marfice, Ealy & De Smet, LLP have worked on the defense side of countless property damage, personal injury and wrongful death cases. In doing so we’ve learned a lot. We know how insurance companies evaluate these cases, the law that apply to the cases, the types of expert witnesses necessary to prosecute them, the damages that are recoverable in them and, most importantly, the impact that a catastrophic injury or death can have on the people affected by it; the victim and their families. We don’t take these matters lightly.
If you or a loved one suffer serious harm or death due to the negligence or wrongful conduct of another, we can help you to assess your rights and pursue your remedies. We don’t handle minor injury matters – slip and fall cases, “whiplash”/soft tissue injuries, or minor auto accident claims. There are a number of fine lawyers out there who specialize in these matters. We don’t. Instead, we focus on the kinds of cases that many lawyers don’t have the depth of experience or the resources to successfully prosecute or, when necessary, to take to trial. Catastrophic injuries (brain damage/head trauma, paralysis, permanent disfigurement, loss of a limb) or wrongful death (victims of a drunk or negligent driver, Dram Shop liability, or dangerous/defective products causing serious injury) are the types of claims where we set ourselves apart. We have the experience and know-how to realistically evaluate both the liability and the damage aspects and to give our clients an unvarnished assessment of the matter and, if they choose to proceed we have the tools and expertise to help them.
